The Strides for Hope 5K Walk/Run is held every September to promote ovarian cancer education and awareness. Help us in our effort to prevent another woman from being impacted by this disease. This year's event will be held:
Sunday, September 12, 9:00 a.m. Westerville Community Center
350 N. Cleveland Avenue
Westerville, Ohio 43082
Same day registration begins at 7:30 a.m., but you can avoid long lines by pre-registering online. If you prefer, you can download and print the registration form.

You can join us in the following ways:
If you would like to create a team, please click on the "Team Captains Create Your Team" button at the top of the Registration Page and create your team prior to registration. You and your team members can then click on the "Register Now" button at the top of the page to join your team.
This is the perfect choice for participants who would like to collect pledges. To create a fundraising page (but not a 5K team), visit our Donations page and select "Become a Fundraiser." Follow the prompts to start your own general fundraising page. This will not be tied to your participation in the 5K and will continue to stay open long after the event is over.
Can't Make it to the 5K? Stay in Bed!
You can still help us make strides by registering in the "Sleep in for Hope" category.
Additional Ways You Can Help
Special Donations honor a survivor or remember a loved one with a donation of $250 or more. This special donation includes printing the name on the 5K tee shirts. Please let us know if this is "in honor of" or "in memory of" and the name as you wish it to appear. Deadline for names and donations is August 6, 2010.
Honorary Mums
Purchase a pot of mums that will be featured along the finish line with the name of your loved one displayed for a $10 donation. At the end of the 5K, you can take your mums home with you.
Corporate Matching Funds
Your company or organization may participate in this wonderful opportunity to increase your pledge and donation dollars. Contact your human resources department at work and ask them if you can apply for corporate matching funds.
We encourage and appreciate your pledges and donations! Each and every dollar is important as we raise funds to increase awareness and promote education.
Strides for Hope Features:
OCAO Teal Store
Various items will be offered for suggested donations on the day of the event. 25% or more of the proceeds benefit the OCAO.
Children's Activity Tent
Adult supervision required.
Survivors' Tent
This special tent is open to all survivors to relax and chat with other survivors. There will be a survivor group photo at 8:15 a.m. at the terrace of the Community Center.
Wall of Honor
This portable wall was created to honor survivors and to remember loved ones. If you would like to include a personal item, please bring it on the day of the event. Please limit the size to 8.5" x 11" or smaller. All items become a permanent part of the display and cannot be returned.
Team Tee Shirt Contest
Design a tee shirt to show your team spirit! If you have a team tee shirt that your team will wear on the day of the event, please provide one to us for display in the team tee shirt contest area. The tee shirt that receives the most votes (in terms of dollars raised) will be our winner and honored on our website. The tee shirts will not be returned and we ask that you please reserve the color teal for our survivors.
